Size Remain small villages
Shape Nice shape with a centre and attractive roads leading off, Attractive

Accessibility

Accessible Proximity to Newark, Melton, Grantham, Nottm. Good communication links: A1, M1, A52.Bus service. Rural but not remote. Central place in the Vale

Community Spirit

Community spirit A good cross section of peopleFriendlyWe know the postman. Sense of communityNeighbours!

2. What would make Granby cum Sutton a better place?

Transport/Highways

Speeding Issues Traffic calming, i.e. speeding control signs/speed indication cameras
Weight Limits No lorries – restrictions
Footpaths Improved accessibility for buggies/dogs.Better footpath marking
Parking Double yellow lines on one side of Main St.Village car park
Visibility Change Chapel Lane to “one way”. Address problems on blind bend

Leisure/Recreation

Play area Improve play area, including better equipment
Community events More community events (e.g. BBQ, kid’s Christmas party, coffee mornings, book swaps).
Village groups/teams More community activities including village football/cricket teams
Playing field Larger playing field to be used for community activities
Youth activities Use of village hall for youth activities. Provide a youth club

Village Hall Improve use of village hall with activities for all ages
Post Office/Shop Possibly community run, selling local produce and containing a coffee shop
